In this lesson you will become acquainted with the application area of KNX. You learn about the system structure and the operation and principle of a KNX system. We are going to look at the points of attention for selecting the cabling. So you start building an installation and the arguments that go with it. We are going to look at the type of communication that is possible within KNX. The KNX protocol has many components that can be linked. There are various suppliers who are allowed to make and supply KNX components. There are about 500 Manufacturers and more than a thousand KNX registered/certified products on the rise. This is only possible by putting a good protocol behind it. KNX is this protocol and therefore have market share within the home automation sector. In this lesson we will look at the various components and type of cabling. We also look at the contents of a distribution box. We will look at what you need to take into account when assembling a distribution box.
